Legendary baseball player Hank Aaron has died at the age of 86,

Firm Hank Aaron National Baseball Hall has died at the age of 86, a spokesman confirmed Friday.
Aaron was a pioneer of sports and a trailblazer. About 50 years ago Aaron surpassed Ruth in terms of career home runs and is now second behind Barry Bond.
At a time when 17.4% of Major League Baseball players were African American, according to the Society for American Baseball Research, Aaron was able to distinguish himself as an icon.

Aaron began his baseball career with the Indianapolis Clowns of the Negro Baseball League, leaving his hometown of Alabama for just two dollars.
“My mother told me I had what I had to give and that I had to be very careful,” Aaron said in an interview with NBC News.
