Minister for Road Transport and Bridges and Awami League General Secretary Obaidul Quader has said that four mega projects including Padma Bridge will be inaugurated by June next year (2022).
He made the remarks at a press conference on contemporary issues at the Road Transport and Highways Department’s conference room at the Secretariat on Sunday.
Asked what he has been able to give to the people after being in power for almost 12 years, Quader said, “There are four mega projects in the government that I am fulfilling. The work on them is progressing fast.” Work on Dhaka Elevated Expressway, Metro Rail, Padma Bridge, and Karnafuli Tunnel is in progress. I will be able to inaugurate all of them in 2022. I am working towards that goal. ‘
“The government’s goal is to implement the electoral challenge,” he said. The main challenge is to implement the promises made in the manifesto.
The Minister of Road Transport and Bridges said Corona has turned the world into a valley of death. In Bangladesh, under the leadership of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, on the one hand, we are dealing with Corona and keeping the economy afloat. Foreign currency reserves have reached $43 billion, growth is in line with expectations.
Obaidul Quader said, “If the situation is a little normal, the decision to open a school-college will be taken by the Prime Minister.” Regarding the vaccine, the health minister said that the vaccine could come by the end of January. A government has been in power for so many years, resulting in incomplete work.
